When my partner and I were pursuing our separate career trajectories across the not-for-profit & corporate sectors, our experience was strikingly similar. Whenever we were involved in setting up or growing a team/business unit for which the talent acquisition decisions were being engineered by outside consultants, we encountered a general lack of understanding from those sitting across the table from us ranging from inability to grasp the operating business environment, the role & responsibilities etc and communicating the same effectively to prospective candidates which led to stretched recruitment processes, an inability to source the right candidates & eventually culminating in increased pressures and frustrations across teams.Of course, we welcomed their outsider mindset because it helped us in casting a fresh light on some old problems that an organization can get bogged down with but it lacked blending with an empathy and an understanding of ground realities.So we decided to set up Development Sector Partners where the underlying credo is ‘Listen before you prescribe’. Even then we work together as “partners” or an “extended virtual team” to arrive at a solution. Our extensive experience in the Research & Consulting domain especially while serving clients at a leadership level offers us in-depth insights into understanding the client’s ecosystem in terms of strategic & operational requirements. Further, we are well versed with the intricacies of the People function having assumed varied responsibilities in functional areas like Talent Acquisition & Retention, Compensation & Benefits, Staff Development and Compliance Management across leading organisations within the Not for Profit & Corporate sector.Currently, Development Sector Partners serves clients pan India operating out of Delhi NCR (Gurgaon) and Bangalore.
